RUSH LAKE

To reach Rush Lake, you must first travel to Hoper Valley in Nagar, which can be accessed from Gilgit by jeep. From Hoper Valley, you’ll begin the Rush Lake Trek, a 3-4 day journey that takes you over the Hoper Glacier and through rugged alpine terrain. While the trek is not overly technical, it does require a good level of fitness, as it involves some steep ascents and high-altitude hiking.

The best time to visit Rush Lake is during the summer months, from late May to early September. During this time, the weather is relatively stable, and the trekking routes are free from snow, making it easier and safer to access the lake. The valleys are lush, and the wildflowers are in full bloom, creating a vibrant landscape. It’s important to note that outside of these months, weather conditions can be unpredictable, and snow may block certain paths.
