Sarfaranga Cold Desert
Sarfaranga Cold Desert is located in the Shigar District at a height of 7,500 feet on the way to Shigar Valley. Nature unfolds itself with a vast variety in this desert. The desert is surrounded by mountains and the Indus river is flowing nearby. The calmness of a desert is at its best a surprising and mesmerizing experience with sunset at top of sand dunes. Annual Sarfaranga Cold Desert Jeep Rally is organized in the highest cold desert in the world, with the aim to promote adventure tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan and boost the local economy of the remote region
