Getting Here

To get to Astore, the best route is via Gilgit, which is the nearest city with airport and road access. You can fly from Islamabad or take a bus from nearest city NATCO offers variety of services also PIA flights to gilgit are limited but you can go to Skardu and travel to gilgit or take long route from deosai. Once you reach in Gilgit, you can travel to Astore by road, which is approximately a 60 km journey taking around 2-3 hours.

Where To Go

Astore is famous for its stunning landscapes. Visit Domel Rainbow Lake for trekking, Deosai National Park for wildlife and meadows, and the Nanga Parbat Viewpoint for incredible mountain views. Sheosar Lake and Bara Pani are also perfect for trekking and camping.

The local cuisine of Astore is rich and hearty. You can find small hotel for meals and a way to explore the food of astore.

Visit Astore's local bazaar to discover a range of handmade crafts and stalls offering fresh dry fruits.

Hire a guide to trek with you, show you around and tell you about the culture.

RUPAL VALLEY OVER MAZENO PASS

It is one of the popular treks offered by national and international companies. Recommended for beginners, with two days at Rama followed by 4 - 5 days hike up the Rupal Valley (about 4000m) and back. Mazeno Pass (5377m) is complicated and requires rope, crampons, ice-axe and a fully equipped professional guide.
