Getting Here

PIA operates daily flights from Islamabad for Gilgit. The flight is one memorable experience, flying over the Nanga Parbat Massif. Private cars, NATCO and other buses run between Gilgit and Rawalpindi daily. This road trip can be one of the most adventurous journeys through KKH.

Where To Go

Naltar Valley, shouldn’t be missed. It’s an alpine paradise hidden, almost 17 km away from the main Nomal Road. Camping sites, hotels are in both lower and upper Naltar. Buddha in Baseen, on the old Puniyal Road is one of best preserved Buddha in Gilgit.

Where To Eat

Gilgit is best to taste street food, local Gilgiti cuisine and also the food from different corners of Pakistan. Haji Ramazan Hotel at NLI Chowk, is best known for its Kebabs. There are numerous shops selling Mamtu (steamed dumplings). For fast food lovers, there is a pizza court, and two other fast food outlets in Jutiyal.

Where To Shop

NLI Market in main Gilgit town offers limitless choices for buyers, from imported Chinese goods to local handicrafts. You will find electronics, clothes, and other miscellaneous items all in one market. For trekkers looking to stock up their supplies, there are a number of big stores in Jutiyal as well as in NLI Market.

Where To Stay

Serena Hotel and Ramada in Jutiyal is probably the best option for peace seekers away from the hustle of the town. There are many other options available, Reveria hotel on Gilgit River Road. Madina hotel for backpackers. Hotels, hostels and guest houses are spread throughout the town. All type of travelers will find their demands met.
