GHANDUS LAKE

The most common way to reach Ghandus Lake is by traveling to Skardu, the capital of Skardu District in Gilgit-Baltistan. From Skardu, you need to drive to Kharmang Valley, followed by a trek to the lake. The trek itself is quite challenging, often requiring at least 3–4 days, depending on the route and weather conditions.

The ideal time to visit Ghandus Lake is between June and September, during the summer months when the weather is milder and the trekking conditions are more favorable. In winter, the area experiences heavy snowfall, making access difficult.

There are no modern facilities or accommodations near Ghandus Lake, so trekkers should be fully self-sufficient. Make sure to carry enough food, water, and camping equipment for the journey. It is also advisable to bring a portable stove, as cooking options are limited.
