YASIN VALLEY

Yasin Valley is accessible by road from Gilgit, which is about 135 kilometers away. The journey typically takes around 4 to 6 hours depending on road conditions. You can either hire a private jeep or use public transport (shared jeeps) from Gilgit.

• From Gilgit: Drive towards Phandar and then head further into the Yasin Valley. The road can be rough in places, so it’s advised to travel with an experienced driver.

• Trekking Routes: Yasin is a gateway to several epic trekking adventures, including:
  • Darkut to Chitral via Broghal Pass: A challenging trek that connects Yasin with Chitral and offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
  • Baba Ghundi via Chilingi Pass: A beautiful trek leading to the revered Baba Ghundi shrine, offering panoramic views of the Yasin Valley and beyond.

While it is possible to trek without a guide, it is highly recommended to hire a local guide if you’re unfamiliar with the region. The trails can be difficult to navigate, and a guide will help you with logistics, safety, and navigating the remote, rugged terrain.
